BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA (BSA)
Troop & Pack 1849
Troop and Pack 1849, chartered in September 2004, was created to serve boys (ages 7 through 17) living in the Republic of Panama. Balboa Academy is the Chartered Organization for Troop and Pack 1849 and meetings are held at school grounds during off school hours. We currently have one Boy Scout troop (6th graders through age 17), one Webelos den (4th and 5th graders) and one Cub Scout Wolf den (2nd graders) and one Cub Scout Bear den (3rd graders) and one Cub Scout Tiger den (1st graders).
Robert
Baden-Powell, founder of boy scouting, once said: “Scouting is a game with a
purpose.” The game is BSA’s fun and exciting program; however, the purpose is
to prepare boys to become better adults. Our mission in Panama is to teach our
cubs, webelos and scouts a program that will make them learn about:

According to the rules and regulations of the World Scouting Organization, enrollment in this program is limited to boys with citizenship in the United States or countries other than the host Nation. Applications from Panamanian boys interested in scouting will be submitted to the Panamanian Scouting Program Director.
