  • Pants cannot be cargo pants, hip huggers, bell legs, have frayed hems or be tight fitting and should be the appropriate length.

Student Dress Code

All students are expected to give proper attention to personal cleanliness and to follow and obey the school uniform code. Students and their parents have the primary responsibility for student uniform and appearance.  

The following uniform regulations must be adhered to: 

A.    No wearing of hats and/or any other headgear in the school building except for medical or religious purpose.

B.     No sunglasses and goggles.

C.     No wearing, carrying or use of electronic devises such as cell phones, ipods, pagers/beepers and radios.

D.    Footwear for medical reasons must be accompanied with a doctor’s certificate stating the need.

E.     No tongue, nose, eyebrow, belly button, or lip rings allowed.  Two earrings per ear is the maximum number allowed. 

F.      Hair must be neatly groomed and boys need to keep it cut to an acceptable length above the shoulders.  Hair color is limited to natural shades.

G.    Visible body tattoos are not allowed.

H.    Make-up and nail polish need to be natural colors and acceptable for school wear.

I.       Jewelry must be modest and appropriate.

J.        Sweaters and jackets worn must be from the school store.   

Student that is dressed appropriately will ensure that: 

Ø      Underwear is completely covered with outer clothing.

Ø      Boys’ and girls’ shirts must cover midriff area.

Ø      Two-piece garments must overlap sufficiently so that, during normal movement and sitting the midriff is not exposed. 

Students who violate the student dress code shall be required to do the following before being allowed in class. 

Ø      Modify their appearance by covering or removing the prohibited item.

Ø       If necessary or practical, replacing it with an acceptable item.

Ø      Hats, electronics and other prohibited items will be confiscated and returned at a later time.  

Any student who refuses to follow uniform code shall be subject to disciplinary action which may include in-school suspension for the day. 

 

UNIFORM INSPECTION 

Students should come dressed in full uniform even on field trips, unless they have been instructed to dress differently for a special occasion.  Teachers will check uniforms at the opening of class.  Teachers will take away hats and sweaters/jackets that are not uniform clothes. 

FREE DRESS DAY 

Appropriate clothes for free dress day: 

  1. Clothes must cover stomach completely.
  2. No spaghetti straps, low cut fronts, halter tops, tube tops or see through garments.
  3. No logos advertising drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, or other inappropriate language or activities.
  4. No hip huggers below the belly button.
  5. Cutoff shirts and armless t-shirts are not allowed.  Clothing that exposes the skin of the torso/midriff is not allowed.
  6. No suggestive outfits.
  7. Shoes must be worn at all times.  Footwear that is a safety hazard will not be allowed.
